About the Event
This two-day intensive program explores the practical shift from manual laboratory techniques to Digital Bio-Manufacturing. Our core focus is on the “Self-Driving Lab” bridging the gap between theoretical molecular modeling and actual, physical laboratory results.
We will navigate the complete research lifecycle, starting from the bioinformatics driven design of targeted drug carriers right down to their final execution using modular robotic automation.
To demonstrate this workflow in action, the program centers on a highly specific application: Curcumin-Loaded Chitosan Nanoparticle Preparation. Using this as our primary track, we will show exactly how automated synthesis protocols can be used to consistently develop and optimize nanocarriers for preliminary cancer screening.
Ultimately, attendees will see firsthand how replacing manual formulation with automated systems drastically improves the precision, scalability, and repeatability of modern bio-nanomaterials.

Program Schedule
Day 1
Industrial Biotechnology, Nanotechnology & Advanced Materials
Experiment Design Workflow and General Practices
Day 2
Automation-Assisted Experiment Design Using Protoly
Live Real-Time Laboratory Experiment Run
Program details
Day 1: Concept Building and Manual Experiment Design
2:00 PM – 3:45 PM IST
The first day introduces participants to industrial biotechnology, nanotechnology, advanced materials, and formulation science. The second session focuses on how experiments are normally designed in research laboratories, using curcumin-loaded chitosan nanoparticles as the model workflow.
Day 2: Automation Design and Live Virtual Experiment
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM IST
The second day focuses on translating the manually designed protocol into an automation-ready workflow using Protoly. Participants will then observe a live virtual real-time laboratory experiment where the designed protocol is executed through automated dispensing, stirring, heating, stabilization, sonication, and visual monitoring.
